Set on a rolling hillside lawn well above High Street, Our Camden Inn offers enchanting lodging in a classic, colonial “Cottage” with a glorious and welcoming front porch and amazing views! We boast large and beautiful common areas with scenic Penobscot Bay views, fireplaces throughout the house, hardwood floors, a well stocked butler’s pantry and many other charming details to discover!

The Chauncey Keep Chamber

This grand suite beckons you with its warm hospitality and a stunning views of passing ships on Penobscot Bay from it’s giant picture window. From the generous fireplace seating area to the king four-poster bed, this chamber is considered the most elegant in the inn. This Chamber features a lovely, pillow covered daybed for an additional guest or as a relaxing lounging corner! A spacious necessary room includes a combination tub/shower and enough room to prepare for an 18th century traditional ball!

The Goodwyfe Mary Chamber

A room where Mary watched the ships sail into the harbor. This same view awaits you in Mary’s 1790 primitive room (with all the modern conveniences!) complete with a lovely, comfortable, king four poster bed to climb into, a fireplace and enchanting reading corner. Private necessary room with combination tub / shower. This charming room is just next to the 2nd floor balcony that overlooks the Penobscot Bay and includes a stair to the stone terrace below. Yes, it’s on the sunny side- what a wonderful, secret balcony!

The Spacious 1620 Chamber

The Spacious 1620 Chamber captures the spirit of early travelers passing thru the original 2nd Colony: This suite continues to honor our early English / American heritage from the comfy king four poster bed to the quiet, window-lit seating area. A cozy electric fireplace adds ambiance and warmth to this lovely room. Large picture windows view a wooded scene at the base of Mt. Battie. The 1620 Chamber’s en suite bath includes a shower.

The Captain Pendleton Chamber

This chamber evokes the memory of the 1800’s sea captain who inhabited this chamber at the front of the house where he enjoyed the picturesque Penobscot Bay view from the rooms picture windows. This room enjoys a handmade queen thistle bed. Private necessary room with a claw foot soaking tub / shower. ( In this room you can enjoy views of the bay while you relax in the clawfoot!)

The Goodman Jesse Thomas Chamber

Goodman Jesse Thomas Chamber is named after the gent that built the house in the late 1700’s. A charming New England room with queen four poster bed and a seating nook next to picture windows that invites you to relax and enjoy a cup of tea with your favorite book. A very spacious necessary room beckons you to luxuriate in the claw foot soaking tub. The tub includes a shower.

Widow Pendleton's Chamber

The Good Captain Pendleton’s widow Lucy moved to her most favorite room where she enjoyed sitting by the window with the wooded New England views of natural wildlife passing through. This delightful chamber with its queen size cannonball bed envelops you with the warmth of years gone by. Located in the 1790 portion of the house with charming 1/2 story picture windows and an en suite claw foot soaking tub and shower, it will be sure to charm you. Across the corridor from this room you will find a door to the little-known second floor sun deck and steps leading to the stone terrace at the front of the house – Lucy’s a secret entrance!
