Area Activities

  • Hiking at Camden Hills State Park: The auto road to the Mount Battie summit traditionally opens in May,Closing in November, offering panoramic views of Camden Harbor and many, many hikes. We have trail maps!
  • Spring Blooms at Merryspring: Visit Merryspring Nature Center for walks through the 66-acre sanctuary featuring herb and rose gardens.
  • Waterfront Sights: Explore Harbor Park to see the Megunticook Falls, where the river meets the sea.
  • Beautiful Megunticook Lake, Rent a canoe or kayak and paddle along the endless shoreline. Barretts Cove beach or Fernalds Neck are both great for a swim!
  • Sailing Season Begins: Many schooners typically begin their day sail and sunset cruise seasons in May.
